Sustainability & Traceability
Here at Wallingford Butchers, sustainability is key. Ensuring that our farms and suppliers provide a quality of care over animals, which can be sustained over many generations, helps us to provide healthy produce for the local community. Our produce can always be traced back to the farm it’s arrived from, and our team would be more than happy to share this information with you during your next visit to the shop!
Many farmers are working towards a reduced Carbon Footprint, by closely monitoring the inputs and outputs of the farm system. During our visits, we make sure to work with our suppliers to ensure that we take all necessary steps towards helping them with this goal, from understanding the animal’s diet, to cutting back on unnecessary transport.
We continuously strive to provide the finest quality local produce, paired with the expert knowledge, artisan skills and personal service you expect from a traditional local butchers. Our meat comes 100% from British suppliers, and our fish is always British where possible. A wide range of our cheeses, condiments, nibbles and drinks all come from local suppliers, which we are extremely proud to support. If you’d like to know which local suppliers we work with, visit our suppliers page.
